The Greek National Tourism Organisation Benelux (EOT) and A Discovering Network Asbl are inviting you on 6 December from 17h30 to 21h30 at Schuman Square in Brussels to discover Greek destinations and tasting journey experience.
A Discovering Network asbl, the non-profit and volunteer association, that for the past 6 years promotes the Greek entrepreneurship, the Greek products and gastronomy in Brussels organizes with the support of the Greek National Tourism Organisation EOT), one week of Greek Tastes at the Berlaymont cantine (EU).
It is our third year that we will offer one week of mythical Greek tastes from different Greek regions. Superb ingredients and simple cooking under the direction of Chef Prineas (from Kythira) who will create daily culinary masterpieces: experience the pleasure of Greek gastronomy in the heart of the EU Institutions for five days only.
Quality traditional ingredients of the Greek diet include olive oil, whole grains, honey, vegetables, fruit, dairy products, seafood and more white meat than red. Therefore, the Greek diet is quintessentially Mediterranean and as such, a part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, “a great contribution to the World, for the population’s health, quality of life and well- being.” Combined with an active life style, the traditional Greek diet promotes longevity, boosts the immune system, and reduces the likelihood of obesity and chronic diseases.

On Saturday 5 May in Brussels A Discovering Network (ADN) asbl participates for the 6th time at La Fête du Pain (the Bread Celebration) at the Schuman roundabout and represents Greece by organizing the Greek stands promoting Greek products and entrepreneurship.
The Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT) and A Discovering Network Asbl will be at the Schuman Square in Brussels to welcome all of you to a discovering trip to Greek Destinations and a tasting journey with Greek traditional pies both sweet “Bougatsa” and salty “spinach and feta cheese pie”.
You can dive into the secrets of making a “Bougatsa” with the recipe that will be offered to all… to make those Christmas sweeter.
Stelios Kouloglou MEP (SYRIZA, GUE/NGL) has the pleasure to invite you to a tasting event which aims to showcase the Greek gastronomic wealth. "Greece on your plate!" brings together four typical Greek products -taramás (fish roe spread), fáva (split peas), trahanás (traditional starch) and pitta (traditional pie)- destined to creatively intrigue four renowned Greek chefs. Along with them and their original creations, we will embark upon a journey to the Greek savors and traditions right in the heart of the European Parliament.
An exceptional musical performance dedicated to Wine and Love will be held on the 9th of March 2017 in Brussels, organized by the 'A Discovering Network asbl' in collaboration with the Brussels Lyceum of Greek Women. The proceeds will go to the non-profit Association http://desmos.org/ which helps with various projects in the humanitarian crisis in Greece.

The Metropolitan Community Clinic at Helliniko in Athens, is based on donation in kind and on voluntary work with the aim to provide FREE medical assistance to the unemployed and poor civilians with no social security or with very little income.
The event in Brussels is organized through a private initiative of those, who would like to support the work of the Metropolitan Community Clinic.

The Belgian Chapter of AHEPA is introducing itself to the Belgian society by organizing an event dedicated to Greece. Through a series of events that will take place at the campus of Solbosch of the Libre Universite de Bruxelles (ULB), we aim in aiding the Greek Language Schools of Brussels as well as contributing to the fund raised by SOS Pyrosvesi

Get into the Beauty Last but not least , is our interest in Beauty . Thus, we held ‘The Greek and the Beautiful’ episode 1, getting the ladies acquainted with natural nailpolishes. More episodes of Greek cosmetics will follow.
Art and Food - Periple is a provocative culinary introduction to local products. With collaboration with one of our network members Periples we organised a culinary journey throughout the year. Our guests have discover a variety of Greek traditional products.
A taste of Greece in Antwerp was our destination, 17 traders were our partners ‘in food crime’ , award winning olive oils were there to be tasted and purchased, cooking classes were organised to show Greek cuisine and more importantly roll out the perfect dough for the perfect Greek spinach pie were held. Over 500 people came to see what all the fuss was about, they travelled from around the country and Holland.
12 HOURS FOR GREECE was in it’s second year of running in 2013. We were there, coordinating through our network a corner of greek products while we were handing out information, trying to spread the word about where high quality Greek products can be found around the country. We also invited in our stand the Association of Krokos Kozanis (Greek Saffron) and we offer them an additional venue for presenting the product.
Our participation in Fete de L’ Europe at Schuman and the Fete du Pain was great fun for all involved as well as for the crowd that came in hordes past our stands to get a taste of the wonderful and unique food the chefs Manos Makriyiannakis and Giorgos Dimitriou had prepared. There were products from Crete and Mitilini on sale, Easter sweet breads, traditional cookies to be given away and that is where we launched our first COOK KIT.
Discovering Network participated in the European Parliament conference 'Increasing Greek agricultural productivity by raising quality' held on the 10th of April 2013 and hosted by Jorgo Hatzimarkakis. All speakers presented to the audience how innovative entrepreneurs can make Greek products escape the confines of their country and achieve steady exports.
